Activities during September 2010 in the College :
On 4th, 5th, 6th September 2010, Prof. Gulshankumar of BVCOA with faculties from KRVIA Mumbai Prof. Aparna Surve and Shruti Gaonkar visited Goa for a reconnaissance survey of villages in North and South regions. They were accompanied by Prof. Rege, Principal of Goa College Of Architecture, Panjim with students to help conduct the survey, where during 9th -17th October 2010 students team of both the participating colleges will conduct a rural studio, while being stationed in these 8 villages of north and south Goa. The Rural studio will finally culminate in an exhibition of student’s work to be reviewed by Goa-based Architects and experts, to be held on 16th October 2010.
4th year B.Arch and 3rd year B.Arch ID students visited BNCA Pune, accompanied by Prof. Gulshankumar Sharma, for one-day workshop on Healthy river -Healthy cities (phase-1) on 10th sep 2010.The seminars on Mula and Mutha river Restoration and Navigation by NERIL team from Pune, River pollution inventory - short term and long term measures of upper Bhima Basin by Mr. Chandrakant Dalvie, Collector Pune, and River Revitalisation Experience by Vijay Paranjape (GOMUKH, Pune) and Mula and Mutha river study by Gayatri Godse were very informative and provided a comprehensive overview on rivers, their importance and need to preserve them for a better city growth. This workshop which is programmed to be in three phase, where finally the participating teams from all across western region will provide solutions for revitalising Mula Mutha River in Pune, which will be discussed with international experts during the international conference on Healthy Cities : Perspective of Asian Concerns, to be held on 3rd, 4th, 5th February 2011 at Pune.
